In Europe, Faurecia has been developing Type IV hydrogen tanks for years. The company has successfully delivered series to Stellantis for their first generation of light commercial vehicle (awarded in 2018) and to Hyundai for medium-duty truck X-Cient (awarded in 2019). In 2022, the company continues its commercial success through significant awards among with Hyvia to supply complete hydrogen storage systems for light commercial vehicles, completed with the recent contract to equip the new Renault Master H2-Tech with a complete hydrogen storage system which onboards up to 9kg of hydrogen.
On May 8th, 2021, Faurecia CLD became the first factory in China to obtain a manufacturing license for type IV hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles. Since then, China has entered the Type IV hydrogen storage tank era.
